The Director of the Uffizi Galleries invites the citizens of Florence to the opening ceremony of the new rooms devoted to Caravaggio and the 17th century.
The Uffizi will open its doors to the city of Florence to introduce its new rooms devoted to Caravaggio and the 17th century. The Director of the Uffizi Galleries, Eike Schmidt, will be personally illustrating to all those in attendance this important scheme for the enhancement and care of the museum’s collections based on the use of innovation to link the history and the future of the gallery’s exhibition rooms.
“Imasterpieces together\”.\nSEE MORE ON THE UFFIZI.ITn honour of Anna Maria Luisa de’ Medici, who bound the Medici collections to the city of Florence for ever and the 275th annivesary of whose death is on the 18th of February,” Eike Schmidt explained, “I was eager to invite not only the authorities but all the citizens of Florence and all the visitors present in the city to attend the opening ceremony of the new rooms in the Uffizi devoted to Caravaggio and to the painting of the 17th century, starting from 11:30am on the 19th of February, so that we can all admire these masterpieces together”.
